New Fleece Tops Join Huk’s Environment-Friendly Waypoint Collection

Huk’s Waypoint Collection is designed to protect anglers from the cold and the oceans from discarded plastic. The latest addition to Huk’s acclaimed Waypoint Collection of outdoor wear made of recycled plastic is full-zip and half-zip fleece jackets. Outdoorsmen will keep this jacket nearby at all times.

Anglers, boaters and outdoor enthusiasts have long turned to polyester fleece for everything from comfort on a cool morning to layering in the coldest weather. It provides warmth, but its breathable construction allows perspiration to evaporate rather than trapping it on the skin. The Waypoint fleeces are great for jogging, hiking, work, school or a day around town – and they’re perfect for a cold day on the water.

Huk has partnered with REPREVE® to incorporate recycled materials into its Waypoint line to help reduce plastic pollution. The collection will have the same unique Huk style but an eco-friendly twist. On average, it takes nine recycled plastic bottles to create one item in the Waypoint collection. The blended fabric provides flexibility and stretches while maintaining shape and fit. 

Huk’s fleece is made from 100% recycled polyester, as the brand builds on its commitment to help reduce plastic pollution. Using recycled polyester prevents plastic from entering the waste stream, which could end up in the oceans or other sensitive environments. It makes producing new material less necessary, conserving natural resources and avoiding emissions-creating processes.

The Waypoint Fleece FZ and Edisto Fleece FZ full-zip jackets and half-zip pullovers feature quick-drying fabric, a must for anglers who face bow spray and splashing fish at the boat. Stretch binding cuffs keep out the cold on chilly days. The zippered chest pocket nicely holds a phone, while zippered hand pockets are perfect for a quick warm-up on the run out to the water. The tall neck on both styles offers comfort on a brisk fall morning.

Colors include Egret, Charcoal Heather, Moss, Black, Overcast Grey, Titanium Blue, New Khaki and Sargasso Sea. Sizes range from small to triple XL. The Waypoint Fleece will let anglers feel good about venturing out in cool weather and helping protect our environment.
