KastKing Presents Commemorative Gold-Plated iReel 2 for Skeet Reece’s Hall of Fame Induction

Some things in life are worth celebrating and KastKing pro Skeet Reece’s 2024 introduction to the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame is certainly one of them. Reece, one of fishing’s most successful bass anglers has racked up 11 career wins over the last 20 years on multiple tours, including the 2007 BASS Angler of the Year title and  2009 BASSMASTER Classic. With over $3.4 million in career earnings, it’s a career worthy of the Hall of Fame honor.

To commemorate the event, Reece’s reel sponsor, KastKing, presented him with a very special and unique gift on the shores of Lake Eufaula, Alabama. KastKing President, Al Noraker, as well as KastKing CEO, Tate Cui, flew to the Major League Fishing event to present Reece with a very special gold-plated KastKing iReel 2.

Noraker had this to say about his long-standing relationship with Reece, noting, “Skeet and I go way back and it was important to me to bring him over to the KastKing family a couple of years ago. I’m so proud of his accomplishments as an angler and as a friend that I talked with Tate about how to make something extra special for this huge milestone in Skeet’s career, so we came up with the idea of the gold-plated iReel 2.”

Elated to be inducted, Reese said, “Wow, the surprises just keep coming! Being inducted into the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame was an amazing accomplishment as I’ve been working my entire life for this honor. I’m so excited to be part of the Hall of Fame! And now to be presented with a gold-plated iReel 2 casting reel from KastKing is pretty exciting. I’ve never seen a gold reel and it’s so cool. And, to have it presented to me in front of all my peers at the anglers meeting during the Bass Pro Tour Stage 4 event at Eufaula was pretty humbling. I just want to say thank you to KastKing for this gracious honor, and I’m glad to be part of such fast-growing, exciting new company.”

The iReel 2 is KastKing’s latest iteration of their 2023 release of the impressively innovative iReel One. The iReel 2 features a smaller magnesium frame than the original iReel and weighs only 7 ounces. Additionally, the new iReel 2 features six preset “smart” braking modes within the IFC digital brake, set to properly utilize the most popular bass techniques. The iReel 2 connects via Bluetooth to a smartphone via the KastKing app for real-time cast and retrieve metrics, such as casting distance and retrieve speed.

The gold-plated version presented to Reece has all the same features as the new iReel 2; however, the one presented to Reece is truly special in that it is one of only two in existence. Noraker adds, “A second gold iReel 2 is being donated to the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame so they can auction it for their fundraising efforts.”

In addition, KastKing is working with the Bass Fishing Hall Of Fame to sell five additional gold-plated iReel 2 baitcasters with all proceeds to be donated to create a KastKing endowment fund. Each purchase of the five limited edition gold reels will come with 2 tickets to the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame induction banquet.

While the gold-plated iReel 2 baitcasting reels are truly special, the new iReel 2, which will be released at ICAST ‘24, will retail for $399.
