Huk performance fishing gear is committed to designing clothing for the hardcore angler, and no angler embodies that commitment more than Tyler Rivet. With a phenomenal four-day total of 86 pounds, 15 ounces, the fifth-year Elite Series pro from Raceland, La., earned his first career blue trophy.
This past weekend, Rivet talked about “Doing what nobody else was doing – finding that one little thing off the wall” to help him take the lead at the SiteOne Bassmaster Elite on Lake Okeechobee. Going into Championship Sunday sitting in third place, Rivet fished differently than the others. For Rivet, it meant fishing upstream from the lake, having the whole river to himself. This tactic helped seal the deal with a final limit of 18 lb. 3 oz. on Championship Sunday.
Rivet dedicated his victory to his grandmother, who passed away in January. “She was watching me from up there every day,” Rivet said tremblingly. “Every fish that I caught this week that was over 4, I said, ‘Thank you, Mammaw.’”
“Tyler personifies our vision of a Huk angler. It’s clear that he loves this sport, his family, and the opportunity to represent our brand on the national stage,” said Chris Russell, Vice President of Marketing for Marolina Outdoor. “We are very excited about this win for him and his family and look forward to the rest of the year.”
Rivet relies on Huk’s clothing to keep him cool and comfortable on the water all year. From shirts, pants, outerwear, rainwear, and footwear, Huk has anglers covered regardless of season or pursuit.
