Led by pro staff manager Tim Gillingham, who won the Senior Known Pro Division, team archers continued their impressive streak of victories across ASA matches for 2023.
In the Men’s Known Pro, one of the toughest classes in the game where it took a score of 456 just to make the final shootout, Gold Tip and Bee Stinger archers had exceptional performances. Brent Platts shot an incredible 238 in Saturday’s round – 19 out of 20 twelve rings – which secured his fourth-place finish. Teammate Kyle Douglas was the fifth-place qualifier heading into the shoot off, and his score of 5 out of 6 of the 14 rings launched him into second place and Shooter of the Year contention.
In the Senior Known Pro division, Gold Tip and Bee Stinger staff manager Tim Gillingham found the leaderboard early and never let go. Going into the shoot off with a commanding 14-point lead, he clinched the first-place spot. Meanwhile, teammate Charlie Rogers took home the third place.
In the Women’s Known Pro, Morgan Rives had a great weekend and finished with a second-place finish. In the Open Pro, Bee Stinger staffer Danny Evans took home third place on the podium just ahead of Levi Morgan’s fourth place finish.
The Metropolis match is the final ASA competition before August’s Delta McKenzie Classic Championship.
