Its 10 inch long blade is made of 52100 high carbon steel, with a Rockwell hardness of 58-59, making it perfect for chopping without the fear of blade chipping or rolling. Users will appreciate the ease of sharpening and edge-holding capabilities of the blade’s steel.
The Thunder features a fuller and a swedge, giving the blade attractive lines with a purpose. The fuller (blood groove) and swedge (false edge) reduce blade weight and enhances balance. Additionally, the swedge improves penetration and reduces user fatigue. The hourglass-shaped handle features natural micarta scales for enhanced texture and grip with a whopping 5 inches of real estate for those with large hands or gloves. The Thunder comes standard with a black Kydex sheath for toughness and low maintenance.
